Big Bird Sammie!

In 2019, Carly Salak spent some time volunteering with us and it was during that time she met Sammie. She offered to foster him and believe it or not...she foster failed! It never gets old! While we truly adore and appreciate the fosters that don’t fail, we understand it can be hard to let go. All of our fosters are incredibly compassionate people and when it’s right, it’s right. We won’t argue.

Fast forward to 2020 and Sammie is doing great! Carly tells us he is full of puppy energy, constantly bouncing around. He loves to run and play with his fur brother, Scout. Sammie is also super snuggly and a bed hog. “He got his nickname, Big Bird, because he doesn’t quite know how big he is and is kind of awkward when he tries to sit on your lap.” But laps are the best spot to sit!! :D

The list is endless when it comes to what they love the most about Sammie. But he does have a couple of funny quirks, including holding hands and carrying his food bowl around telling you when it’s time to eat. Don’t be late, Mom! He loves walks, car rides, and even kayaking! Carly says they had been wanting to adopt a rescue pup, but really wanted to find the right fit with their other fur babies.

Patience is key when it comes to adopting. Most times, we don’t know too much about the dog’s previous life before coming to us. We like to take the time to get to know each dog that comes through our doors to help determine the best fit for them.
